#1 Un-censoring Myself
Hello Bear Blog-osphere! Despite discovering Bear Blog ~2 years ago and even getting a paid account at some point, I never published more than 1 or 2 posts despite having dozens of post ideas. I've spent last year beating myself up for not being more creative and posting more without ever really asking myself why I had such a hard time publishing. Earlier this year, I discovered Jessica Wildfire's publication, Sentinel Intelligence and I had a silly epiphany: I didn't need to use my real name to blog in public and so, inspired by the concept of Cassandra in Greek mythology, I decided to create this account - Argive Mantis.
Bundled with my privacy tech stack (QubesOS/Whonix/Proton Mail), I feel really comfortable writing freely now :)
I know it's a bit overkill since I'm not journalist in a country like Russia or China, but I fear that the incoming administration in the United States may not be as pro-free speech as our founding fathers intended for long. As of writing this, the First Amendment still means something thankfully. Unfortunately, Section 3 of the 14 amendment has lost its meaning as we are about to inaugurate a convicted felon as the President of the United States.
In the meantime, I'm grateful for this platform existing and I look forward to publishing again soon.
